This tri-color glazedpottery
reclining cow, with pottery roughcastornamented by brown glaze, reclining
posture, up-lifting head widely- opened eyes looking forward,
slantedly-standingeyes, short and thick neck, broad chest, left front leg
stretching outward,right front leg curled up and tail bent under the left
crotch, presents a calmand serene manner.
Thiscultural relics was unearthed
from a Tang Dynasty tombs complex in Qin`an, GansuProvince in September 1965
together with other 180 objects of which most are tri-color-glazedpottery
figurines. This group of three-color-glazed pottery wares in shape ofhuman and
animal image were made in realistic style looking spectacular,vigorous and
gracefulin pure colored glaze, its harmonious unity of form and spirit shows the qualityoftri-color-glazed pottery ware of
the High-TangPeriod.This tri-colorglazed pottery reclining cow is a
boutique oftri-color-glazed pottery work due to its muscular, strong andhealthy,
vivid and life like image.
