This bronze Fu, unearthed in Lixian
County, Gansu Province, and currently preserved in Gansu Provincial Museum, has
a height of 21.8 centimeters and a diameter at the mouth of 18.8
centimeters.
The round vessel with a folded rim
has a bulging body with two round ears on either side and a high foot ring.
Bronze Fu is a common eating utensil and sacrificial vessel in the daily life of
nomadic tribes. According to the announcement of the researchers, the bronze Fu
mainly distributed in the steppe regions from Xinjiang to Ciscaucasia and the
northern shore of the Black Sea, as well as Southern Siberia and Transbaikal in
the early period. From this, we could suspect that nomadic tribes play an
important role in the communication between the East and the West.
